<a href="http://www.nokaoi-apparel.com/" target="_blank">No Ka'Oi</a>&nbsp;is an Italian designed, Hawaiian-inspired 'action-couture' brand made in Bologna&nbsp;by the Rilievi Group (known for their embroidery and tailoring for various haute couture pieces). No Ka'Oi literally means the best in Hawaiian. The line's fabrics are not the typical Spandex and polyester utilized in a lot of active clothing.&nbsp;Instead, they bring some serious luxury to leisure by using unconventional fabrics such as 3-D mesh, textured knits and hand-sewn Swarovski crystal embellishments. Yogis will appreciate the yoga mats made from a combination of microfiber and fused sponge.

The brainchild of veteran designer Nima Taherzadeh, <a href="http://www.heroinesport.com/" target="_blank">Heroine Sport</a>&nbsp;started as a way to give his stylish New York clients the same edgy look at the gym. The designer uses his expertise in the fashion (sleek color palettes, flattering fits) to create high-tech performance pieces that are the embodiment of studio-to-street style. Based in London, <a href="http://laain.co.uk/" target="_blank">LAAIN</a>&nbsp;is a line founded by talented duo Tamara Rothstein (who has consulted for the likes of Dior and Louis Vuitton) and Sheila McKain-Waid. The brand has been around for a couple of seasons, but stands out this year for its spring collection, which looks like it came straight from the catwalk thanks to its sleek color blocking and impressive color combos.&nbsp;

Combining luxury and a &lsquo;downtown cool&rsquo; aesthetic (<a href="http://www.lanstontees.com/pages/sport" target="_blank">Lanston Sport</a> is manufactured in LA, after all), this recently launched activewear line was built off Lanston's existing lifestyle collection. Designer Ann Tan made sure each piece maintained the brand&rsquo;s reputation for high-end construction and fit. Throw on the color block leggings and sleeveless hoodie, which transition seamlessly from lunges to lunch. (Some items are available in select Equinox Shops.)

<a href="http://www.theupsidesport.com/" target="_blank">The Upside</a> is an Aussie brand that was launched in 2014 by Australian model Jodhi Meares, and became available in the U.S. last year. The line is known for its bright prints that are featured on everything from tights to sports bras and even swimwear. New for the brand this year is a menswear collection that features some seriously good basics like hoodies, shorts, and joggers.

This big news in the activewear world this week has been all about Beyoncé and <a href=http://www.ivypark.com/ target=_blank>Ivy Park</a>, her new collection for Topshop. Yeah, the line looks cool, but it's not the only new option out there.
