In 1965, Italian-American architect Paolo Soleri and his wife Colly started the Cosanti foundation, a non-profit urban design organization in Paradise Valley, Arizona. They held workshops that focused on the integration of architecture and ecology (known as arcology) and, in 1970, enlisted participants to help them with the creation of Arcosanti. This experimental city is located one hour from Phoenix and still exists today. This month, it will host FORM Festival, a creative retreat at which Equinox will host yoga classes, Body Lab treatments, and more.
