Smoke weed with your SO

Unrivaled Group Fitness classes. Unparalleled Personal Training. Studios that inspire you to perform and luxury amenities that keep you feeling your best.

You’ll be more intimate.

The science:

Researchers at the University of Buffalo in New York analyzed the relationships of couples who use weed regularly. They found that when one or both of the partners were high they were more likely to be intimate. This encompassed a range of activities, like showing their support and having sex.

Expert insight:

Small doses of marijuana make you more empathetic and creative. Combined, these effects can facilitate meaningful discussions and inspire new experiences in the bedroom, says Nick Karras, San Diego-based sexologist and author of The Passionate High. Get too stoned, though, and you’ll feel more sedated than engaged.

To reap the benefits, test your tolerance to weed (if it's legal in your state) on non-intimate evenings, Karras says. Then, set intentions with your SO while sober (for example, maybe you want to feel more mentally or physically in sync) and smoke or ingest just enough to feel a light high.

The bottom line:

While the new study focused on seasoned users, Karras argues that people who partake rarely or not at all may benefit even more since their tolerance is nil.
