With fall on the way, the influx of urbanites to upstate New York shows no signs of slowing down. Though there are charming towns aplenty, Amenia, with its outdoor adventures and impressive lodgings, should be on your list. It's just under two-and-a-half hours from New York City by train or car.
Equinox Explore will be hosting a cycling trip in the Hudson Valley locale in 2020. Leah Howe, Equinox's senior director of retreats and member experiences, who organized the excursion, shared some of the places and activities that make the area an ideal weekend getaway.

Book at recently renovated Troutbeck, a historic hotel that began as a private estate and country inn in 1765. The Manor House was built in 1919 and features 17 guest rooms and suites along with a gallery, bar, and library. The elegant yet cozy accommodations offer wood-burning fireplaces and views of the expansive property which include trout pools and tennis courts.
