Quinton Hypertonic is a unique elixir harvested from the ocean floor.
A single peek into a hotel minibar is usually enough to discern its lack of nutritional value, but the RoomBar at Equinox Hotels is a definite exception. The curated kit of health-enhancing amenities contains over 70 items, including a supplement called Quinton Hypertonic. Packaged in svelte glass ampoules, this elixir is a modern-day manifestation of ancient seawater therapy.
For over a hundred years, Spain-based Laboratoires Quinton has continued the pharmaceutical legacy of French physiologist René Quinton, who discovered the healing properties of seawater in the 19th century. Ultra-purified and sourced from the Atlantic Ocean, today’s Quinton Hypertonic contains nearly 80 different natural chemical elements. The company claims that the concoction mitigates stress, boosts the immune system, and regulates hormone imbalances. Athletes like Rafael Nadal have lauded the product as a boon for increasing performance and reducing cramps. The ampoules should be taken daily on an empty stomach, the company says, and more frequently throughout the day as you continue the regimen.
Furthermore spoke to Guillermo Gosálbez Coll (who manages scientific research at Laboratoires Quinton) and integrative medicine advocate Chris Shade Ph.D., the founder of Quinton’s North American distributor, Quicksilver Scientific, for more insight on the unique substance.
