Prepare the fillings in advance and let your dining companions make their own.
A common misconception about dumplings is that they're difficult and time-consuming to make. But preparing the fillings is actually a quick endeavor and, if you use pre-made wrappers (which you should), folding the dumplings is a fun, simple activity. Also known as dumpling skins or gyoza wrappers, dumpling wrappers can be found online or in most grocery stores or specialty stores. If you can only find wonton wrappers, those are fine to use as well.
Furthermore tasked New York City–based recipe developer Beth Lipton with creating four nutritious, produce-forward recipes. Consider entertaining with a dumpling party: Prepare all the fillings in advance, set up a steamer basket (or pot of boiling water) and a sauté pan, and allow guests to DIY.
