From January 23 to February 2, skiing and snowboarding will play second fiddle to Park City's annual Sundance Film Festival, known as the country’s top showcase for independent cinema. Attendees can choose from 118 feature-length films representing 27 countries and selected from a record high of 15,100 submissions.

In telling the tale of Merab, a gifted dancer, and the handsome, dangerous male dancer he falls for, Akin explores both Georgia's renowned dance culture and its deep-seated homophobia.
