DETOX WITH A SALAD.
This plant-based dish features hearty, nutrient-rich Tuscan kale in addition to roasted parsnips and cauliflower. Rosemary adds an earthy, aromatic note to the salad, which gets finished with a simple lemon-garlic dressing. Serve it with roasted fish or meat for dinner or as a filling lunch.
WE’LL EXERCISE OUR EYES.
The pandemic has exposed people to more blue lightthan ever, in the form of Zoom meetings and constant streaming, says Jiji Pollock, Ph.D(c)., science advisor for The Institute of Motion. “There is a lot of scientific evidence to suggest that increased exposure to blue light impairs collagen in the eyes, causing retinal damage, eye strain, and predisposes individuals to nearsightedness. Hence exercises to improve eye care and its muscles, such as eye-socket massage and eye cupping (close your eyes and cup your eyelids gently with the heels of your palms) will be important.”
MAKE FACETIME SPONTANEOUS.
“I have very close friends that push for spontaneous FaceTimes at any given moment,” says JP Lemire, Tier X coach at Columbus Circle in New York City. At first he was resistant, but his friends encouraged him to come out of his “FaceTime shell,” and it was worth it. “It makes reconnecting more fun and refreshing,” he says, adding that he’s now started doing it with everyone he knows.
