FEED YOUR GUT BITTER VEGGIES.
In addition to fermented foods, which contain natural probiotics, bitter vegetables should be a frequent part of your diet, according to Jeffrey Morrison, M.D., founder of The Morrison Group in New York City and member of the Equinox Health Advisory Board. Ingredients like bok choy, Chinese broccoli (also called gai lan), bitter melon, and horseradish are all excellent for gut health, says Morrison, as they improve digestive immune function, encourage growth of good bacteria, and discourage growth of bad bacteria. Bok choy, Chinese broccoli, and bitter melon all make good additions to a stir-fry, while horseradish can be used in marinades, dressings, and sauces.

REFLECT ON DRY JANUARY.
There are pros to having a fully immersive experience, like “Dry January” or going vegan for 30 days, said Jonathan Dick, Tier X manager in London, in a recent EQX Talk. The key: Take the time to reflect on what you learned about yourself, and what aspects of the challenge you can make a part of your lifestyle going forward. For example, maybe you’ll keep two nights a week meat-free, or decide to only drink socially in February.
