WORK SHOULDERS + OBLIQUES.
DON'T SKIMP ON SALT.
If your blood sodium levels (which your doctor can test) are within the healthy range of 135 to 145 milliequivalents per liter, reducing your salt intake could actually have negative effects, especially for high-performers. You lose sodium when you sweat, which can make you hit a wall during endurance workouts. Salt provides the electrolytes that keep your nerves and muscles functioning, notes Alexandra Sowa, MD, clinical instructor of medicine at NYU Langone Health in New York City.
GO ON A DATING CLEANSE.
“Dating burnout happens when you've lost your proverbial fire,” says Candice Jalili, author of Just Send The Text. “You've dated so much that you're just kind of over it.” Signs include considering settling for someone you're lukewarm on, being on dating apps primarily for attention, and forgetting to respond to texts from people you’re seeing. "If this is you, try going on a week-long dating cleanse. Delete the apps, take a break from the people you've been casually seeing, and focus on yourself."
SHOP THE CORE COLLECTION.
The Shop’s latest drop is going back to basics with the Equinox Core Collection. Members of the team share their picks:
“Rhone’s Spar Jogger is a consistent fan favorite with its soft, warm poly nylon blend and moisture-wicking technology. Pair it with the new Reign Hoodie from Rhone for added style and functionality to take you from the gym to your living room.”
—Sam Kraditor, assistant men’s buyer
“The Lululemon Align legging has been a best-selling item in The Shop for years and we know why: You never want to take them off. The matching tank is compressive without feeling tight. Round the look out with our Equinox zip-up and the large Dagne Dover Landon bag. You’ll be the walking definition of ‘fashion meets function.’”
